Our Lodge & Comfort
Casa Gregorio is designed to offer a comfortable, authentic stay rooted in local hospitality. Here is what you need to know about our rooms, facilities, and all-inclusive packages.
About San Martín de Amacayacu
San Martín de Amacayacu is a community of about 700 Tikuna indigenous inhabitants located in the heart of the Amacayacu region in the very south of Colombia, on the shores of the Amacayacu River and about 8 km from Puerto Nariño.
The community was founded in its current form about 50 years ago. Before this time, Tikuna families lived spread out over ancestral lands in communal houses (malokas). Later, families were encouraged to live closer to the river in western-style villages with separate houses. Following the Colombian Constitution of 1991 and the subsequent recognition of indigenous reserves (resguardos), the community obtained its own jurisdiction and special rights.
Today, San Martín consists of about 120 houses. While the people preserve traditions like agriculture, artisan fishing, and hunting, they have also embraced sustainable tourism. During your stay at Casa Gregorio, you will be able to witness and participate in daily community life—a truly unique, non-extractive experience.

Note: The Colombian Amazon is an expensive destination in comparison to the interior of the country. Most products have to be flown in from Bogotá or spend weeks on cargo boats from the Peruvian or Colombian Andes to get here. Over the course of 2021-2025, product prices have increased between 40-100%, not only for businesses (of course) but for everyone! Our staff wages have been adjusted accordingly. We apologize for any confusion generated by the Lonely Planet quotes, which have been copied and pasted from our first appearance in this travel guide in 2014.
